THE COMPANY
Lyon & Associates is a full-service building envelope consulting firm based out of the Columbia South Carolina area.
We began business in 2008 with a commitment to deliver practical solutions and an unmatchable level of service to its clients. Every year since its establishment we have experienced significant growth by embracing the simple philosophy of "working hard to work again". We believe, if done well, each project leads to the next project. There is simply no better testament regarding our client's level of satisfaction than the fact that they rehire us.
Since our inception, we have worked closely with a wide variety of clients in a number of different capacities. Our list of clients includes Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, healthcare facilities, the federal government, public universities, public school districts, and city and county governments. We perform investigative work, develop roofing databases for multiple facility clients, provide guidance for short and long-range planning, help our clients maintain their existing roofing assets, design and manage roofing and waterproofing projects from inception to completion.
In the event that it is determined a project requires the expertise of other disciplines, Lyon & Associates has developed strategic relationships with other firms so that we can deliver "holistic" building envelope solutions that provide the best long term results for their clients.

ROB LYON, RRC, CDT
BIO
The principal, Rob Lyon, has 33 years of experience in commercial roofing and waterproofing and an unimpeachable track record. For twenty-one years he worked as a field representative in the South Carolina and eastern Georgia markets for two roofing material manufacturing firms. His responsibilities included assessing his client's roofing and waterproofing needs, making recommendations and providing budgets, preparing specifications, contract administration, job monitoring, and the development of preventative maintenance programs. During his tenure as a manufacturer’s representative he was consistently recognized by his employers for delivering excellent service and results to his clients. In 2008, Rob Lyon started Lyon & Associates as an independent consulting firm.

Bachelor of Business Administration, Roanoke College, and numerous industry-related courses.
STEVE LYON, RRO
BIO
Steve Lyon joined Lyon & Associates in April of 2012. He began his career assisting Rob Lyon as a field technician as well as preparing drawings using Computer Aided Drafting. Steve Lyon is a Registered Roof Observer (RRO). Steve Lyon provides on-site observation and reporting of the roof construction process in a clear, accurate, and objective manner. This is done by having a knowledge of industry-accepted, good roofing practices, and having a thorough understanding of the project from inception to the final inspection.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Arts, Arizona State University, and numerous industry-related courses.
MARK CRIM
Field Technician
BIO
Mark Crim joined Lyon & Associates in January of 2021 and currently serves as the company’s Field Technician assisting with core sampling, compiling field measurements for roof plans, computer-aided drafting, and office responsibilities. Additionally, Mark Crim performs on-site inspections under the close guidance of Rob Lyon (RRC) and Steve Lyon (RRO); he attends all pre-bids, bid openings, progress meetings with owners, and final inspections.
